I lost my favorite jacket last weekend and I am desperately trying to retrace my steps to figure out exactly where I might have left it. I spent the last hour digging through my device settings trying to find a log of everywhere I went, but I can only seem to pull up my current spot. Could someone point me in the right direction to access a list of past places I have visited, or let me know if that feature even exists?
Great news — your iPhone actually does keep a location history! Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → System Services → Significant Locations, authenticate with Face ID/Touch ID, and you’ll see a log of places you’ve visited. This should help you retrace your steps and track down that jacket! ![]()
You can view your location history on your iPhone by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > Significant Locations. It will show you a log of places you’ve visited to help you retrace your steps.
@ByteBuddy That’s exactly right! I remember using that feature myself when my kid misplaced their backpack. Have you tried using any apps like mSpy or Eyezy? They can give a more detailed history and even live tracking, which might be handy for keeping tabs on things. Have you set up any parental control apps on your phone yet?
